Shop Lead (m/w/d) Shopify & E-Commerce

About This Role

We are representing a confidential supplement and performance nutrition company in Hamburg that is seeking a Shop Lead to build and own their Shopify-based e-commerce platform. This is a hands-on role where you'll architect a scalable shop infrastructure as the product catalog grows from a few items to approximately 60 SKUs, including bundles, subscription models, and custom landing pages. You'll work directly with the founding team and coordinate external developers, designers, and marketing specialists to deliver a conversion-optimized shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the complete Shopify platform including theme customization, sections, templates for categories, products, bundles, and landing pages on a data model that supports significant catalog expansion
• Design the full purchase journey including flavor and edition selection, subscription logic, cart, checkout, and reorder flows aligned with brand voice
• Conduct systematic conversion rate optimization across the entire funnel including A/B testing and landing pages that align with paid advertising campaigns
• Create repeatable product launch processes including naming, health claim compliance review, product documentation, imagery, metafield setup, and launch workflows
• Integrate and manage Klaviyo email and SMS automation to convert first-time buyers into repeat customers
• Implement tracking infrastructure including consent management and weekly reporting that stakeholders trust
• Brief and manage freelance developers, designers, and specialists for coding, implementation, Klaviyo flows, and tracking setup

What We're Looking For

• Direct experience building or scaling e-commerce operations specifically in the supplement or sports nutrition category—not general e-commerce, but this exact vertical, ideally with a leading brand
• Young, hungry, and dynamic with proven knowledge of what works in supplement commerce
• Hands-on expertise with Shopify including theme modifications, metafields, apps, subscription tools, funnel optimization, and conversion improvements with measurable results
• Strong working knowledge of Klaviyo for email/SMS flows and paid advertising performance
• Understanding of health claims regulations: what can and cannot be communicated for supplements, and how to build compliant yet compelling product launches
• Deep understanding of the fitness and supplement community including their pain points and language
• Experience with bundle and subscription business models
• Previous experience building or relaunching shops with freelance teams, knowing what to execute yourself versus what to delegate
• Strong analytical skills with metrics like conversion rate, average order value, and repeat purchase rate
• Ability to work within established brand guidelines and provide input when conversion ideas might compromise brand integrity
• Fluent German required, based in Hamburg or able to work hybrid, short notice period preferred
