About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential public-sector IT organization in Germany that is advancing digital transformation in healthcare. Our talent team is seeking a Senior IT Architect to shape technical solutions within the statutory health insurance environment. This is a fully remote position based in Germany.
As Senior IT Architect, you will analyze complex requirements in the healthcare sector and develop secure, scalable, and sustainable IT architectures. You'll take technical and strategic responsibility for architecture decisions and guide their implementation alongside development teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and design modern solution architectures for healthcare applications
- Own architecture decisions and define technical standards and guardrails
- Analyze functional and technical requirements and translate them into future-proof solution designs
- Ensure IT security, data protection, and compliance requirements in healthcare environments
- Advise project teams and stakeholders on technical matters
- Support technical implementation and assist with complex architecture challenges
- Evaluate and introduce suitable technologies, frameworks, and architectural approaches
- Identify optimization potential in existing system landscapes
- Assess and deploy innovative technologies including AI to advance processes and solutions
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Deep knowledge of modern software architectures and experience with Java/JEE-based enterprise applications
- Experience designing complex application systems and integration/interface architectures (e.g., REST, SOAP)
- Hands-on experience with cloud and container technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Docker
- Substantial experience in the German statutory health insurance (GKV) environment with strong understanding of healthcare sector requirements
- Knowledge of handling sensitive data and regulatory requirements in protected environments
- Excellent German language skills, written and spoken (C2 level)
Preferred:
- Experience with secure coding, API security, or comparable security standards
- Knowledge of UML modeling, requirements engineering, or architecture methods such as iSAQB
- Experience with AI solutions in regulated environments, ideally in healthcare
