Director, Business Development – Financial Services

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential global organization in the language services and technology sector, and we're seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to join their London team. This role offers the opportunity to work with international brands helping them communicate and operate effectively across markets.

Our client provides comprehensive language and business support services to organizations navigating the global marketplace. As Director of Business Development, you'll leverage your Financial Services sector expertise to develop new business relationships through direct sales approaches.

Responsibilities

• Source and close new clients through referrals, cold calling, networking, tradeshows, and regional organizations
• Build and manage a productive sales pipeline through each phase of the sales process
• Cultivate long-term client relationships by delivering exceptional service and demonstrating industry knowledge
• Formulate and execute sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets
• Generate daily outreach efforts including direct mail, digital marketing, and cold calls to prospective clients
• Present solutions via one-on-one, group, online, and in-person meetings
• Set and manage client expectations while consulting on best practices
• Manage pricing and contractual negotiations
• Travel domestically and internationally for conferences and client meetings

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years successful sales experience, preferably within Financial Services
• Established knowledge and network within the Financial Services sector
• Superior written and spoken communication skills in English
• Demonstrated ability to communicate value propositions and competitive advantages
• Strong relationship-building and networking abilities
• Service-focused mindset with commitment to exceeding client expectations
• Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Financial acumen and sound decision-making capabilities
• Team player comfortable working with diverse backgrounds and cultures
