Applied AI Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization that is building next-generation AI-native banking systems. Our talent team is searching for an Applied AI Engineer based in Germany who can turn AI capabilities into production-ready solutions that solve real customer and operational challenges.

This is a builder role, not research-only. You'll create AI agents, workflows, and automations that improve financial products, reduce manual work, and deliver measurable impact for users and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Build AI agents, workflows, tools and automations that solve real customer, product and operations problems
• Apply LLMs, retrieval, tool calling, evaluations, guardrails and automation to practical financial workflows
• Create AI-assisted experiences for onboarding, support, KYC, risk review, CRM, operations, document handling and product intelligence
• Work with product and engineering teams to identify what is worth building, then ship it quickly and improve it in production
• Design around real constraints: accuracy, hallucination risk, latency, cost, security, compliance and user trust
• Turn manual processes into reliable AI-enabled systems that can scale

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on engineering ability with experience building AI agents, LLM applications, RAG systems, automation workflows, copilots or AI-enabled tools
• Strong coding ability in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript or similar practical stack
• Good judgment on what should be automated and what should not
• Proven ability to ship working systems, test quality and improve reliability over time
• Strong English communication skills for working with global teams
• Real technology career highlights where you personally helped build, ship or scale a serious product, platform or system
• Fintech, banking, support automation, risk, KYC, fraud, CRM or operations automation experience is a strong plus
• Must be currently based in Germany
