Field Deployment Engineer (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential robotics organization that develops advanced AI-powered automation solutions for warehouse and factory environments. We're seeking a Field Deployment Engineer to lead the installation and commissioning of robotic systems at customer sites across Europe. This is a hands-on technical role combining engineering leadership with practical implementation in high-automation production settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation and commissioning of robotic systems at customer facilities throughout Europe
• Coordinate deployments with internal engineering teams, contractors, and customer personnel
• Plan installation workflows ensuring safe and efficient execution
• Serve as primary technical contact during on-site deployments
• Install and integrate robotic arms, grippers, sensors, cameras, and mobile platforms
• Perform mechanical and electrical installation work including mounting end-effectors, routing cables, and modifying control cabinets
• Drill, tap, mount, and modify brackets, fixtures, and mounting hardware for system integration
• Conduct on-site system testing and validation prior to production handoff
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues during deployment
• Replace or repair hardware components such as grippers, sensors, actuators, and cabling
• Optimize system performance for efficiency, speed, and accuracy in production environments
• Provide technical training and support to customer teams
• Document installation procedures, configurations, and lessons learned
• Provide remote support to customer sites when not actively on deployment

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience deploying robotic systems, automation equipment, or industrial machinery
• Experience leading or coordinating technical installations or field deployments
• Hands-on experience with robotic workcells, automation systems, or industrial equipment
• Knowledge of ROS 2, robotic system architecture, or industrial automation systems
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar programming languages
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and software systems
• Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment
• Experience installing sensors, routing cables, and integrating hardware in industrial environments
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system layouts
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Europe (approximately 75%)
• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker is a plus
• Familiarity with 6-axis robots, AMRs, or other robotic platforms is a plus
