About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential insurtech client in their search for a Strategic Client Manager based in London. Our client operates at the intersection of insurance and technology, using data-driven approaches to deliver innovative solutions for fleet customers. This is an exciting opportunity to shape corporate client relationships within a growing organization backed by significant industry resources.
As Strategic Client Manager, you'll become the primary relationship owner for the largest fleet accounts, working at the center of client, broker, and internal stakeholder relationships. You'll build the corporate account management framework from the ground up, bringing together teams across claims, safety, underwriting, and finance to deliver exceptional service. This role reports to the Head of Distribution and offers genuine ownership over how strategic accounts are managed and grown.
Responsibilities
- Own and develop relationships with a portfolio of the largest fleet clients, serving as their primary point of contact
- Design and implement the corporate account management approach, including client reviews, performance reporting, relationship cadence, and account planning
- Collaborate closely with brokers and Broker Development Managers to ensure a coordinated, seamless client experience
- Coordinate across internal teams (claims, safety, underwriting, finance) to resolve client issues quickly and build strong stakeholder relationships
- Identify retention risks proactively and develop clear plans to protect key accounts
- Support commercial management of direct corporate client relationships
- Shape and improve the broader client service proposition based on client feedback and business needs
- Leverage AI tools for account research, meeting preparation, query management, and client reporting
What We're Looking For
- Strong insurance industry experience with clear understanding of the broker–client–insurer dynamic and how to add value without creating confusion or duplication
- Proven experience in a client-facing role such as insurer account management, deal management, broker account management, or claims relationship management
- Demonstrated track record managing important client relationships and delivering strong retention or customer satisfaction outcomes
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders across clients, brokers, and internal teams
- Strong commercial judgment—ability to identify at-risk accounts, understand client priorities, and build effective retention plans
- Skilled at navigating broker-led relationships, knowing when to lead, support, or bring in specialist colleagues
- Ownership mindset with energy to drive problems through to resolution
- Comfortable using AI tools to work more efficiently and enhance client experience
Preferred but not required: Experience with large, complex, or multi-site corporate clients; Commercial Motor Fleet or fleet risk and safety background; exposure to claims processes; or experience building account management propositions.
