About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential biotech organization that is expanding its data platform engineering capabilities to support critical commercial operations. As their recruiting partner, Get A Job.ai is seeking a Senior Snowflake Platform Engineer to join this mission-driven team.

This fully remote position (US-based) offers the opportunity to own and evolve a production Snowflake environment that powers business-critical analytics and commercial systems. You'll work at the intersection of platform reliability, security governance, and cost optimization—building the foundation that enables data teams to deliver value while maintaining enterprise-grade controls.

Responsibilities

• Own Snowflake platform operations across all environments, including databases, schemas, warehouses, roles, tasks, stored procedures, and related services. Maintain accurate asset inventory and clear ownership models.
• Design and automate role-based access controls, object ownership, grants, and access lifecycle management. Partner with Identity and Security teams to enforce least-privilege principles and timely access reviews.
• Drive platform reliability through proactive monitoring, root-cause analysis, and durable solutions for workload performance, data ingestion, authentication, and freshness issues. Establish alerts that detect problems before they impact users.
• Build resilient production support practices including actionable monitoring, runbooks, escalation procedures, and recovery capabilities. Participate in incident response and cross-train colleagues to eliminate single points of failure.
• Manage Snowflake consumption and cost transparency by tracking usage by workload and owner, identifying trends, developing forecasts, and optimizing warehouse configurations without compromising performance or reliability.
• Strengthen platform change management through version control, automated testing, peer review, and controlled promotion processes. Coordinate release readiness across integrated applications and cloud dependencies.
• Drive continuous improvement by reporting on reliability metrics, access hygiene, consumption patterns, and platform risks. Simplify complexity, automate repetitive tasks, and maintain comprehensive documentation.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of experience in data platforms, cloud engineering, or data engineering with substantial hands-on Snowflake production operations experience
• Strong SQL and Python skills, particularly for automating operational workflows and troubleshooting complex production issues
• Deep practical knowledge of Snowflake security and operations: roles, grants, object ownership, warehouses, tasks, stored procedures, and operational telemetry
• Experience managing enterprise identities, service credentials, least-privilege access models, and access lifecycle controls in collaboration with Identity and Security teams
• Proven ability to analyze platform consumption, optimize workloads, and balance cost, performance, and reliability tradeoffs
• Experience with Git-based workflows, peer review processes, automated testing, controlled releases, monitoring systems, incident response, and documented recovery procedures
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $140,000–$160,000 USD base salary annually
