Chemical Laboratory Assistant / Lab Technician (f/m/d) Analytics & Synthesis

We are representing a confidential deep-tech organization in Leipzig that is developing next-generation materials for sustainable applications. Our talent team is seeking a hands-on Chemical Laboratory Assistant or Lab Technician who excels in analytical precision and synthesis support.

This is a technical role at the heart of materials research and development, where your daily work directly contributes to innovative solutions in advanced polymer chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine instrumental and wet-chemical analyses to characterize advanced materials using NMR, IR spectroscopy, DSC, and titration methods
• Execute polycondensation syntheses at bench and pilot scale following established standard operating procedures
• Prepare and maintain laboratory glassware, conduct sample preparation, and manage material drying processes
• Conduct regular calibration of analytical instruments and maintain detailed laboratory documentation
• Maintain laboratory organization and ensure compliance with good laboratory practice (GLP) standards
• Support the development and refinement of standard operating procedures
• Ensure analytical equipment readiness and safety protocols are consistently followed

What We're Looking For

• Completed vocational training as a Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA), Chemielaborant, or equivalent technical qualification with hands-on laboratory experience
• Strong practical expertise in instrumental and wet-chemical analytics, particularly NMR, IR spectroscopy, DSC, and titration techniques
• Experience conducting organic syntheses safely according to established protocols
• Comfort operating analytical instruments, preparing samples, and performing routine calibrations
• Detail-oriented and reliable approach to laboratory work and documentation
• Working knowledge of English for technical documentation and team communication
• Experience with polymer testing methods such as MFR/MFI or tensile testing is highly valued
• Prior work in a plastics laboratory or with polymer chemistry is a significant advantage
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative startup environment
