Software Engineer – Systems Modeling (all genders)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential aerospace technology organization based in Berlin. They are advancing high-performance satellite systems and seeking a Software Engineer - Systems Modeling to join their Architecture and Processes team. This role offers the opportunity to develop system infrastructure that enables rapid satellite mission development, working at the intersection of software engineering and space technology.

You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to build tools, digital models, and processes that empower mission teams. This is a permanent position with a hybrid work model in Berlin.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain system infrastructure for satellite mission development
• Create digital models and tools using MBSE methodologies and SysMLv2
• Build code-based systems modeling solutions in Python
• Design and implement APIs, databases, and automation pipelines
• Collaborate with engineering teams across subsystems to establish modeling processes
• Manage CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and GitLab environments
• Develop data visualization interfaces and dashboards
• Support the Architecture and Processes team in enabling rapid mission execution

What We're Looking For

• University degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
• Demonstrated experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysMLv2
• Strong Python programming skills with expertise in architecture, testing, and automation
• Proficiency with databases and API development
• Advanced Git and GitLab skills, including branch management, merge requests, and CI pipeline troubleshooting
• Structured, process-oriented mindset with focus on simplicity and automation
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with diverse stakeholders
• Understanding of satellite missions, system architectures, and development lifecycles (preferred)
• Experience with PostgreSQL, InfluxDB, Grafana, and UI design for data visualization (preferred)
