Senior Full Stack Engineer — TypeScript / Next.js (100%, m/f/d)

About the Role

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to own the customer-facing platform for their German market. You will architect and build the digital application journey—multi-step forms, validation, resumable state, document uploads, and KYC flows—and maintain customer, dealer, and operations portals at production scale. This is a genuine full-stack position with backend use-case and API work, not a UI-only role.

You will work closely with the founding team and engineering peers across Europe and Asia, translating German credit rules and compliance requirements into a platform that serves multiple markets. This is a high-ownership role where your decisions have direct product impact.

Responsibilities

• Own the German market implementation: credit and compliance requirements, dealer flows, and acceptance criteria
• Design and build the complete digital application journey, including validation, partial persistence, resumption logic, document handling, and conditional branching
• Develop and maintain customer, dealer, and operations portals with production-grade reliability
• Write use-case and API layers to clean-architecture standards—this role is approximately 60% frontend, 40% backend
• Own field-level mapping into CRM and process engine systems where accuracy is a compliance requirement
• Author specification-driven change proposals and act as the named approver for journey and mapping changes in the German market
• Grow end-to-end test coverage on critical journeys to support autonomous agent work
• Collaborate with backend and platform engineering teams on integration points and cross-market consistency
• Communicate clearly in German and English with engineering and business stakeholders

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of full-stack TypeScript engineering with recent production experience in React and Next.js App Router—server components, server actions, route handlers—with a clear understanding of execution context
• Mandatory fintech experience: production work on a regulated financial product (leasing, lending, banking, payments, or insurance) where money moved and regulatory oversight applied
• Proven ownership of a complex multi-step onboarding or application flow: validation strategy, partial persistence and resumption, conditional branching, document upload
• Real backend capability: use cases, repository implementations, API handlers, and PostgreSQL/Prisma queries
• State and data-fetching maturity (Zustand or equivalent, TanStack Query) and confident use of form and schema tooling (Formik or React Hook Form with Zod), including server-side validation parity
• End-to-end testing experience with Playwright or Cypress on stateful, integration-dependent flows
• AI-first engineering mindset: daily use of coding assistants and agents on production work, with the ability to write specifications precise enough for agent implementation and human verification
• Working understanding of the German regulatory environment for consumer credit or asset finance (BaFin context, AML/KYC obligations, consumer-credit disclosure) is a strong plus
• Internationalization discipline—no hard-coded strings and awareness of multi-locale layout and copy challenges
• Fluent German and English

Location and Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid position based in Berlin, with 2–3 days per week in a coworking office. The role includes regular collaboration with the founding team in Switzerland and engineering teams across Europe and Asia. Remote work of up to 4 weeks per year from anywhere is supported.
