Product Manager – Maritime (All Genders)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential defence technology client seeking a Product Manager to lead their maritime autonomous systems division in Plymouth. Our client is developing cutting-edge unmanned platforms that combine advanced sensors, software-defined capabilities, and operational readiness for NATO forces.

This is a unique opportunity to own product development from concept through deployment, working at the intersection of naval architecture, autonomous systems, and mission-critical sensor integration.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end development of software-defined maritime capabilities and sensor suites for autonomous platforms
• Direct integration of advanced sensors and autonomous software by leading collaboration across System Engineering, Project Delivery, and Operations teams
• Drive product testing strategies including Software-in-the-Loop (SITL), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL), and full hardware/software integrations
• Lead strategic market analysis to identify platform opportunities for allied defence forces
• Manage complete product lifecycle from prototype through deployment and customer acceptance
• Enforce safety and compliance standards across the maritime product portfolio
• Communicate product vision and strategic milestones to internal stakeholders and external defence partners

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Technical degree in Maritime Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in product management delivering complex maritime or defence systems
• Understanding of maritime operations and sensor integration
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and navigate regulatory requirements
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain UK security clearance

Preferred experience:

• Naval projects or autonomous/robotic platforms
• Defence technology or rapid-growth aerospace environments
• V-model development while maintaining agile pace
