Senior Veterinary Surgeon – Small Animal

We are representing a well-established small animal veterinary clinic in Guisborough, Cleveland, seeking an experienced Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join their collaborative clinical team. Our client operates a respected practice with a loyal client base and offers exposure to diverse cases including cats, dogs, rabbits, small furries, exotic species, and backyard poultry. You'll work alongside certificate holders in Cardiology, Small Animal Surgery, and Small Animal Medicine, providing an enriching environment for continued professional development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality medical and surgical care across a varied first-opinion caseload
• Manage and work up medical and surgical cases to a high clinical standard
• Perform routine and advanced surgical procedures including orthopaedics and complex dentistry
• Build strong client relationships through excellent communication and continuity of care
• Support and mentor new graduate and early-career veterinary surgeons through case discussions and collaborative working
• Contribute to clinical discussions and continuous improvement initiatives
• Work closely with veterinary, nursing, and client care teams to deliver outstanding patient outcomes
• Help foster a positive, supportive, and collaborative clinical culture

What We're Looking For

• Veterinary degree with current RCVS registration (or eligibility to register)
• Solid experience within small animal first-opinion practice in a senior capacity
• Confidence in routine surgery, medicine, and clinical decision-making
• Strong communication skills and ability to build lasting client relationships
• Collaborative approach with willingness to support and develop colleagues
• Proactive attitude towards clinical development and continuous improvement
• Passion for delivering exceptional patient and client care
• Interest in areas such as surgery, medicine, dentistry, emergency and critical care, or other specialties

Working Pattern: Full-time position, 40 hours across four days with shared Saturday rota. Flexible working discussions welcomed.

Practice Features: Modern facilities including dedicated theatre, separate prep area, digital radiography, dental x-ray, new ultrasound scanner, separate cat ward, and isolation facilities. Part of a supportive three-practice network with access to experienced clinical directors.

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: Up to £65,000 depending on experience, plus welcome bonus up to £5,000.
