Co-Founder – Business, Finance & Commercial (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a pre-seed climate technology venture in Berlin developing industrial-scale thermal energy storage solutions. Our client is seeking a full-time co-founder to lead business, finance, and commercial operations from company registration forward.

In this founding role, you will:

• Own business and financial planning, including financial modelling, pricing strategy, and fundraising materials
• Lead investor conversations, due diligence preparation, and grant or non-dilutive funding applications
• Drive go-to-market strategy and early sales efforts within target industrial sectors
• Develop strategic partnerships with relevant industry players
• Manage company registration and commercial operations
• Contribute to hiring decisions as the team scales

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Background in business, finance, economics, or marketing; OR technical degree combined with MBA; OR project management experience with budget ownership and commercial delivery responsibility
• Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience
• Demonstrated interest in energy, decarbonization, or climate technology sectors
• Comfortable operating in early-stage, high-ambiguity environments with limited structure
• Based in Berlin or willing to relocate immediately
• Completed degree from a German university awarded within the last 5 years, or completing within 2–3 months (non-negotiable for grant eligibility)

Preferred:

• German language proficiency
• Direct B2B sales, fundraising, or grant application experience
• Existing network among industrial clients or investors in energy or climate verticals
• Financial modelling experience specific to pre-seed or early-stage companies
• Exposure to industrial or heavy-industry sectors

How We Work With You

This is a co-founder equity role, not standard employment. Candidates apply directly through Get A Job.ai. Compensation

This role offers meaningful founding equity with a standard vesting schedule. Final equity terms will be discussed directly during the process. The organization is pursuing grant funding that may provide a separate non-dilutive personal stipend; however, candidates should not rely on this as guaranteed compensation. Any such stipend would supplement equity, not replace it.
