Vigilant IT Security Manager – Portugal/Poland

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential construction technology organization in their search for a Vigilant IT Security Manager. This is a remote role open to candidates based in Poland or Portugal.

Our client is a globally distributed team focused on delivering complex construction projects through technology solutions. This is not a back-office support position—you will be a key player working directly with leadership to mature security systems, ensure compliance, and manage all aspects of IT operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic IT security initiatives to identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks across the organization
• Ensure compliance with ISO 27001 and SOC2 standards, regulations, and audit requirements
• Develop and enforce robust IT policies, procedures, and business controls
• Manage software, hardware, and infrastructure across Microsoft and Google environments
• Establish and maintain SLAs for user support and IT service delivery
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT efforts with organizational goals
• Provide functional leadership on IT security, risk management, and compliance
• Develop and lead a high-performing IT department

What We're Looking For

Must-Have:

• Strong understanding of IT security systems with proven ability to identify vulnerabilities and implement solutions
• Hands-on experience across both Microsoft and Google environments
• Deep knowledge of ISO 27001 standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
• Proficiency in risk management, compliance management, and audit processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams and projects simultaneously while prioritizing effectively
• Track record of improving IT operations beyond basic requirements

Nice to Have:

• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA
• Knowledge of IT governance frameworks including COBIT or ITIL
• Proven experience leading, coaching, or developing technical teams
• History of implementing scalable solutions that significantly improved support operations and infrastructure management
