About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential robotics organization developing cutting-edge autonomous multi-agent systems. Our talent team is seeking a motivated Robotics Software Engineer Intern to join their Munich-based engineering team for a 3–6 month full-time placement.

This hands-on internship offers the chance to work on real robotic platforms and contribute to software that operates in live field environments. You'll collaborate with experienced robotics and embedded engineers while taking ownership of meaningful technical challenges in simulation, system observability, and core autonomy stack development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop data-driven dashboards and monitoring tools to analyze and visualize autonomous system performance
  • Extend simulation frameworks with KPIs, automated test scenarios, and evaluation workflows
  • Analyze simulation and field-test data to identify performance issues and optimization opportunities
  • Contribute to core robotics software in areas such as estimation, perception, planning, control, or mission execution
  • Work with multi-UAV systems and distributed agent coordination
  • Collaborate across robotics, simulation, embedded, and domain expert teams
  • Validate software on real robotic hardware and in operational environments

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Autonomous Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Strong programming skills in C++, ideally modern C++ (17/20)
  • Solid foundation in algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles
  • Basic understanding of robotics fundamentals: coordinate frames, sensor data, estimation, planning, or control
  • Comfortable working in Linux environments
  • Ability to work independently on defined technical problems while actively seeking feedback
  • Genuine interest in autonomous systems and robotics technology
  • NATO-aligned or close ally citizenship required

Valued Experience (from academic projects, research, student teams, or internships):

  • ROS or ROS 2 development
  • Hands-on work with real robots, embedded systems, or hardware-in-the-loop testing
  • SLAM, navigation, computer vision, estimation, filtering, planning, or control
  • Multi-agent systems, swarming, or distributed robotics
  • LiDAR or camera data processing
  • PX4 or ArduPilot autopilot systems
  • Simulation frameworks (Gazebo, Isaac Sim, Unreal Engine)
  • Embedded platforms, GPU programming, or networking
  • Machine learning methods
  • Extra-curricular engineering projects or robotics competitions
