Chief of Staff, Emergency Cash (Senior Manager)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a leading international cash transfer organization in their search for a Chief of Staff, Emergency Cash (Senior Manager). Our client has delivered over $1 billion in direct cash assistance to millions of people across 15 countries and is recognized as one of the most effective and innovative organizations in the humanitarian sector.

This is a remote role open to candidates based in the UK or USA. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available at this time.

As their emergency response operations scale to reach more people faster with cash after crises, our client needs a strategic partner to drive organizational effectiveness, performance management, and stakeholder engagement. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, operations, and communications—turning ambiguity into action and building systems that help teams perform at the highest level.

Travel: Up to 40% including 1-2 team retreats annually

Responsibilities

Performance Management & Organizational Effectiveness

• Own goal performance monitoring systems, dashboards, and review processes to ensure visibility into key metrics and outcomes
• Drive strategic planning and goal-setting processes, aligning teams around clear objectives and measurable results
• Improve operating rhythms, meeting structures, and decision-making processes to maximize team effectiveness
• Develop and maintain evergreen playbooks and operating resources that increase institutional knowledge and execution quality

Brand Strategy & Stakeholder Positioning

• Develop and advance a strategic positioning approach to build recipient trust and unlock relationships with mobile network operators, financial service providers, governments, and other stakeholders
• Partner across the organization to ensure emergency cash messaging is consistent, compelling, and aligned across external-facing channels
• Own creation and maintenance of core collateral including pitch decks, webpages, FAQs, briefing materials, and strategic narratives

Partnership Management

• Support management of strategic Mobile Network Operator partnerships by coordinating engagement plans, tracking commitments, and ensuring timely follow-up
• Develop and maintain systems, trackers, and reporting to provide visibility into partnership status, milestones, risks, and opportunities

Strategic Initiatives

• Lead high-priority strategic initiatives that advance emergency cash objectives and team effectiveness
• Serve as strategic thought partner to leadership on emerging opportunities, risks, and long-term priorities
• Collaborate on addressable market analysis, market segmentation, and product framing

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in strategy, operations, management consulting, business operations, organizational effectiveness, or product strategy in mission-driven or high-performance environments
• Demonstrated experience building systems, processes, and operating mechanisms that improve team performance, accountability, and organizational effectiveness
• Experience leading strategic planning, goal-setting, performance management, or business review processes
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills with ability to identify patterns, synthesize insights, and translate findings into actionable recommendations
• Excellent project management skills with track record of independently driving complex, cross-functional initiatives from inception through execution
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including creating executive-level presentations, strategic documents, and stakeholder-facing materials
• Ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders without direct authority while balancing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity, proactively identify opportunities for improvement, and build practical solutions that scale
• Experience developing messaging, positioning, stakeholder engagement strategies, or go-to-market approaches for products, programs, or initiatives

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience conducting market analysis, audience segmentation, landscape assessments, or strategic research
• Experience creating executive communications, strategic collateral, presentations, or thought leadership materials
• Familiarity with AI tools and workflows for productivity, knowledge management, or decision-making
• Experience in humanitarian response, international development, public sector, or social impact sectors
• Experience supporting senior leadership teams, chief-of-staff functions, or cross-functional strategic initiatives
• Experience with data visualization, dashboarding, or performance management tools

Pay

Compensation details will be shared during the screening process based on your location. Our client uses a transparent, equity-based compensation approach with competitive base salaries, performance bonuses (approximately 10% at target), and substantial benefits stipends.
