Engineering Manager – Revenue Management Azure

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cloud technology organization in their search for an Engineering Manager - Revenue Management (Azure focus). This is a hands-on, player-coach leadership role where you will be embedded with your team, owning both delivery and growth. You will write and review code, drive architectural decisions, and lead a high-performing engineering team working on cloud-based SaaS products.

This position is fully remote and available to candidates based in the UK, Ireland, Estonia, the Netherlands, Sweden, or Israel.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Growth

• Lead a team of engineers, owning both delivery outcomes and professional development
• Drive continuous improvement through fast iterations and compounding progress
• Develop engineers through regular 1:1s, growth plans, performance reviews, and candid feedback
• Build the next layer of leadership - tech leads, senior engineers, and future managers

Technical Leadership

• Write and review code regularly, maintaining technical credibility through hands-on work
• Drive architectural and technical design decisions in partnership with senior engineers
• Uphold engineering standards through thorough pull-request review and healthy release processes
• Work AI-augmented and lead an AI-augmented team, applying judgment on where AI tools add value

Roadmap & Delivery

• Own team commitments on scope, timing, and quality
• Run disciplined planning, prioritization, and delivery cadence
• Partner with Product team on scope, sequencing, and tradeoffs
• Translate business objectives into engineering context and ensure clear alignment
• React decisively to change, re-planning and re-prioritizing while keeping the team engaged

Hiring & Communication

• Own hiring for your team with thoughtful interviewing and high standards
• Communicate clearly upwards, downwards, and across teams
• Partner effectively with Product, Design, Customer Success, and other functions
• Serve as a role model for engineering management across the organization

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years in engineering management roles where you actively coded
• Hands-on experience building cloud-based SaaS products running in production on Azure (and ideally AWS/GCP)
• Strong background understanding and leading teams in the FinOps space
• API-first mindset - building products fully functional for both UI and programmatic access
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams including full-stack and data engineers
• Track record of measurably transforming engineering teams - velocity, quality, or team caliber improvements
• Deep technical fluency in your team's stack - current ability to read, write, and review code at a senior level
• Strong opinions on high-performing team operations, hiring, coaching, and performance management
• Excellent judgment under pressure and ability to make quick decisions with imperfect information
• Direct, candid communication style - giving and receiving hard feedback well

Bonus Qualifications

• Strong Golang knowledge or experience
• Established AI-augmented workflow with opinions on applying AI tools to raise velocity and quality
• Hands-on experience with multiple cloud providers
• Background scaling teams, processes, or technical systems during organizational growth
