Senior Backend Developer (Node.js / Nest.js)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Senior Backend Developer with deep expertise in Node.js and Nest.js. This is a full-time remote position offering the chance to build modern, scalable web applications as part of a collaborative engineering team. This role is ideal for an experienced backend engineer who thrives in remote work environments and is comfortable working within CET timezone (+/- 3 hours).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure backend applications using Node.js and Nest.js
• Implement RESTful APIs, GraphQL endpoints, and microservices architectures
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Integrate with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and external services via APIs
• Ensure code quality, security, and compliance with industry standards

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience with Node.js
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Nest.js framework
• Strong expertise in building REST and/or GraphQL APIs
• Deep knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript
• Solid experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
• Familiarity with authentication and authorization mechanisms (JWT, OAuth2)
• Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha)
• Proficiency with Git and version control workflows
• Located within CET timezone (+/- 3 hours)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Understanding of event-driven architecture and message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka)
• Experience with Docker and containerized applications
• Knowledge of microservices and serverless architectures
