Senior Project Management Officer (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential consulting organization in Berlin that is seeking a Senior Project Management Officer to join their growing project operations team. This is a strategic role supporting complex IT and business transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and relief to project leads and the Project Management Office in day-to-day operations
• Prepare, coordinate, moderate, and independently conduct working sessions, status meetings, and client appointments
• Track open items and escalate measures across active projects, ensuring accountability and resolution
• Assume deputy project leadership responsibilities and, when needed, full project leadership roles
• Perform quality assurance and reporting for projects, including deriving steering requirements from project metrics
• Conduct quality management sessions with project leads to ensure standards and methodologies are maintained
• Evolve PMO processes, methods, and templates while ensuring compliance across the organization
• Support the development of new consultants in project management through onboarding, training sessions, and workshops

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in project environments, with solid experience in PMO or project management roles
• Strong knowledge of standard project management methods and tools
• Certification in IPMA, PMP, or agile methodologies is highly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work conscientiously, carefully, and in a structured manner with strong prioritization skills
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities with a confident, friendly presence, capable of managing escalations professionally
• German language proficiency at minimum C1 level required
• Strong comfort level in IT environments with secure command of MS Office and Microsoft 365 products
• Analytical and conceptual thinking with foundational understanding of project calculations
• Experience with risk management and quality gates
• Confident presence in complex organizations with reliable communication style
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for using AI tools such as Copilot and Claude in daily work
• Advantageous: industry knowledge in real estate/housing or experience in SAP environments
