Senior Director, Customer Education

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential HR technology organization in their search for a Senior Director, Customer Education. Our client is building a comprehensive education platform for customers, partners, and employees, and they need a strategic leader who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and contribute directly to content creation.

This role reports to the Chief Customer Officer and leads a small, growing team. It's ideal for someone who wants to blend strategic direction with hands-on execution—setting the vision while staying closely involved in the work itself.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategy and content roadmap for the customer education platform, building a calendar that transforms priorities into fully developed courses and certifications
• Own the certification program end-to-end, including exam design and content, renewal tracking, and roadmap development for new credentials
• Serve as final reviewer for all compliance-sensitive training materials
• Hire, coach, and manage a small team while maintaining high performance standards and accountability
• Collaborate with internal compliance teams to ensure course content reflects current leave and accommodations law
• Partner with Product to keep training current as new features are released and ensure proper customer enablement
• Oversee the learning management platform, including system integrations and single sign-on for employees and customers
• Report on program health and results to leadership, proactively escalating risks or delays
• Represent the organization in industry and partner conversations related to leave and accommodations education
• Support organizational security and compliance controls across your role, team, and department

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of experience in customer education, training, or learning and development, including a few years managing a team
• Proven track record of building or scaling a training or certification function at a B2B SaaS or technology company
• Comfort managing a certification program end-to-end: exam design, renewal tracking, and vendor relationships
• Hands-on experience running a learning management system from course design through reporting, with platforms such as Skilljar, Docebo, or Absorb
• Experience integrating LMS platforms with Salesforce or another CRM system
• Meaningful depth in leave and accommodations compliance is a strong plus—CLMS or CPDM certification, or equivalent hands-on experience with FMLA, ADA, or state leave programs highly valued
• Familiarity with DMEC or similar credentialing organizations is beneficial
• Experience partnering with legal or compliance teams to keep training content current
• Genuine preference for building things yourself, comfortable operating hands-on while blending individual contribution with team leadership
• High personal standards for content quality and accuracy, especially where compliance is involved
• Proactive communication style, raising risks or delays early rather than waiting to be asked
• Adaptable operator, comfortable balancing long-term strategy with day-to-day content and program work

Pay

Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process based on your experience, skills, education, and location. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus program.
