Head of E-Commerce (m/w/d) D2C Growth

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential e-commerce organization based in Hamburg that operates multiple consumer brands in the fashion and lifestyle accessories space. Our client sells through international online marketplaces, proprietary online shops, and brick-and-mortar retail.

As Head of E-Commerce – D2C Growth, you will lead expert teams focused on online shops and email marketing while steering performance marketing activities in partnership with external agencies. You'll be responsible for setting the right priorities to drive sustainable growth across multiple brand portfolios.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategic roadmap and overall performance responsibility for online shop channels
• Plan and coordinate implementation of marketing campaigns across shops, email, influencer marketing, and paid social/search advertising
• Analyze performance channel results with partner agencies, derive clear action recommendations, and prioritize initiatives, tests, and budget allocation
• Provide functional leadership for performance marketing, email marketing, and online shop teams, ensuring work quality and serving as direct point of contact
• Manage cross-functional coordination to execute integrated campaigns across multiple touchpoints

What We're Looking For

• Initial leadership experience managing teams with ability to delegate responsibility while maintaining quality standards
• Direct-to-consumer experience with hands-on online shop marketing and familiarity with A/B testing and platforms like Shopify
• Strong background in performance marketing with independent ownership of paid channels, ideally in e-commerce environments
• Experience in email marketing including newsletter and automated flow management (e.g., Klaviyo or similar platforms)
• Structured working style with strong prioritization skills and accountability for results, not just execution
• Pragmatic implementation mindset with hands-on mentality to execute tasks directly when needed without losing strategic focus
• Fluency in German required for this Hamburg-based role
