Adjunct Faculty – Ethics (Remote/Asynchronous)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential faith-based higher education institution seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Ethics in a fully remote, asynchronous format. This role focuses on delivering undergraduate-level ethics instruction to pre-nursing certificate students in an online environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality online instruction in ethics for class sizes up to approximately 30 students
• Provide rich, timely, and constructive feedback on student assignments and discussions
• Facilitate and grade all coursework in a timely manner, managing assignment workflows and student groupings
• Conduct periodic synchronous interaction sessions with students
• Respond promptly to student inquiries regarding course material and academic matters
• Monitor student performance and alert program leadership to any academic or policy concerns
• Submit final grades after consultation with Program Director by established deadlines
• Participate in program faculty meetings and curriculum development discussions as able
• Complete required faculty training modules and maintain current credentialing records
• Stay current with trends in ethics education and the nursing field through professional development
• Provide constructive feedback to program leadership for continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Philosophy, Ethics, Theology, Religious Studies, or related field with at least 18 graduate hours clearly relevant to ethics or moral philosophy
• Past or current full-time experience in Bible, Ministry, nursing, or ethics
• Minimum three years of online teaching experience in higher education (preferred)
• Proficiency in APA style formatting, citation, and academic writing standards
• Computer literacy in software and internet-based applications, including learning management systems like Canvas
• Experience with Microsoft and G-Suite applications
• Strong written and oral communication skills with excellent interpersonal abilities
• Outstanding organizational and project management skills with consistent ability to meet deadlines
• Self-motivated problem-solver who collaborates effectively while also working independently
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional judgment with students and colleagues
• Willingness to receive mentoring and participate in ongoing faculty development
• Capacity to work under pressure, manage stress, and adapt to new technology platforms
• Commitment to supporting the mission of a faith-based educational institution
