CMO – Chief Marketing Officer (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a fast-growing direct-to-consumer brand in Germany seeking a Chief Marketing Officer to lead their entire marketing organization. You will own the complete marketing function as the primary growth engine, with full budget and P&L accountability, direct access to the founders, and leadership of a 50+ person team across multiple disciplines.

You will manage one of the largest paid social operations in German D2C, steering over €4 million in monthly ad spend across Meta, TikTok, and additional channels. Your focus will be contribution margin and customer acquisition economics—not vanity metrics. You make daily data-driven decisions about budget allocation and performance optimization.

You will scale the influencer and creator business, one of the largest programs in the country, with dedicated teams, clear ROI measurement per partnership, and creator content fueling paid campaigns. You own the creative engine: high-volume production, systematic testing, and identifying winning patterns. In this environment, creative is the biggest lever in account performance.

You will drive internationalization by adapting the marketing playbook for new markets—from creative localization to building local creator networks and achieving profitable scale. You will strengthen retention and brand through CRM, email, community building, and evolving the brand identity while maintaining its authentic, approachable character.

What We're Looking For

• Multiple years in senior marketing leadership roles within D2C or e-commerce, with full budget and results accountability
• Proven track record profitably managing and scaling seven-figure monthly ad budgets—with the ability to explain your structure, creative strategy, and measurement logic
• Deep understanding of influencer marketing as a measurable performance channel, not just a reach play
• Strong creative judgment: you can assess ad performance in seconds and articulate why
• Data-driven decision-making based on contribution margin, CAC, and repeat purchase rate
• Experience leading organizations of 50+ people across multiple teams, with the ability to attract and retain top talent
• Operator mindset: you go into ad accounts, review creatives, and analyze data yourself—you don't just delegate
• Fluent German and English required
• Demonstrated success in international market expansion and scaling marketing playbooks
• High entrepreneurial drive, strong decision-making ability, and a clear execution-oriented mindset
