Software IV&V Lead

We are representing a confidential defense technology client seeking a Software IV&V Lead in Munich. This role sits at the strategic intersection of software quality assurance, systems safety, and regulatory compliance in a high-stakes operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce software testing frameworks and QA processes aligned with ISTQB standards across all development teams
• Manage test infrastructure, tooling, and environments; ensure qualification of testing tools and generation of audit-proof test evidence
• Oversee validation and verification execution following the V-Model methodology, including unit, integration, and sub-system-level testing
• Deliver bidirectional requirements traceability between software requirements, architectural design, implementation, and testing in collaboration with configuration management
• Establish and govern defect, deviation, and problem management processes, ensuring systematic tracking and resolution of all findings
• Drive adoption of strict coding standards (such as MISRA for C++) using automated static analysis and code coverage metrics
• Verify compliance with software configuration management processes, auditing baselines, versions, reproducible builds, and release packages
• Provide independent quality gate approvals and formal release recommendations for software release candidates
• Lead preparation, execution, and follow-up for internal software QA assessments and external regulatory audits

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience defining and enforcing software testing frameworks and QA processes based on ISTQB standards
• Deep expertise managing validation and verification (V&V) phases of the V-Model for complex software systems
• Hands-on experience with automated static analysis tools and enforcing coding standards such as MISRA for C++
• Strong background in requirements traceability and managing interfaces between software requirements and test execution
• Solid knowledge of Software Configuration Management (SCM) processes, including version control, reproducible builds, and release auditing
• Demonstrated capability in defect and deviation management with systematic tracking and resolution
• Professional experience in defense or aerospace sectors with safety-critical software systems (highly valued)
• Familiarity with regulatory audits and quality assessments (preferred)
• Experience with flight testing operations or hardware-in-the-loop integration environments (a plus)
