GSCC | Strategic Communications Senior Associate, Super Pollutants

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential climate-focused nonprofit network in their search for a Strategic Communications Senior Associate specializing in short-lived climate pollutants. This is a remote role working with a global team of environmental communications professionals.

Our client works on addressing greenhouse gases that have powerful warming effects but shorter atmospheric lifespans than CO₂. Your work will focus on building strategic communications campaigns that accelerate adoption of mitigation solutions across agriculture, energy, and related sectors.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic communications campaign strategies in partnership with global environmental organizations and technical experts
• Build networks of subject matter experts, media contacts, and influencers to create content for diverse audiences and platforms
• Drive narrative shifts through high-impact tactical communications across traditional and digital media
• Create data-backed messaging frameworks and conduct landscape analysis, audience research, and message testing
• Scope national-level campaigns and identify resource gaps for implementation
• Gather intelligence and maintain relationships with diplomatic partners, civil society organizations, and industry voices
• Collaborate with colleagues across multiple time zones using remote-first collaboration tools
• Advise partner organizations on strategic communications interventions

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience in strategic climate communications, ideally with exposure to short-lived climate pollutants or related environmental issues
• Expert-level understanding of climate issues across agriculture, energy, and food systems
• Proven track record developing and executing communications strategies that achieve measurable outcomes
• Deep understanding of global media landscape, including emerging digital platforms
• Experience working effectively with distributed teams across multiple time zones
• Fluency in written and spoken English; additional languages are valuable
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and adapt quickly to changing priorities
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to working within high-trust, values-driven teams

Location: Fully remote, ideally within 6 hours of Central European Time. Some international travel required. Candidates must have work authorization in their location.

Contract: 12-month full-time contract with potential for renewal.
