Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential AI research organization that is building competitive-programming problems and automatic graders to train advanced coding models. As a Competitive Programming Expert, you will:

  • Write original algorithmic problems with clear statements, sound constraints, and intended solutions
  • Develop correct solutions in C++ and Python
  • Create realistic wrong solutions that represent common mistakes to test against
  • Build and harden test cases including generators, edge cases, stress tests, and adversarial inputs
  • Write checkers and interactors for problems with multiple valid answers
  • Validate quality: ensure correct solutions pass, wrong solutions fail, and all run within time limits

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Strong competitive programming background demonstrated by a public profile (Codeforces rating, IOI, ICPC, or national olympiad record)
  • Fluent in competitive C++ (STL, complexity analysis) and comfortable writing Python
  • Ability to explain why a solution is incorrect and construct inputs that expose failures
  • Strong written English (C1+ proficiency)

Experience Levels (by Codeforces rating or equivalent):

  • Associate: 1700–2100 (Expert/Candidate Master) for easier problems
  • Expert: 2200–2600 (Master/Grandmaster) for harder problems
  • Senior/Reviewer: 2600+ (International Grandmaster) or IOI/ICPC medalist for hardest problems and quality review

Preferred:

  • IOI or ICPC alumni and top competitive programmers
  • Experience setting or testing problems for contests (Codeforces rounds, ICPC, national olympiads, online judges)
  • Testlib experience (checkers, validators, generators)
  • Experience creating data for LLM code benchmarks or evaluation datasets
