Senior General Ledger Accountant (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential aerospace organization seeking a Senior General Ledger Accountant for their Ottobrunn, Bavaria location. In this role, you will ensure the integrity of financial accounting operations within an international SAP S/4HANA environment.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Recording payment transactions and bank activities with timely, accurate bank reconciliations
• Supporting cost control initiatives and managing invoice approval workflows in collaboration with department managers
• Maintaining precise asset records, performing asset accounting, and reconciling balance sheet accounts including intercompany positions
• Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation under HGB and Local GAAP
• Managing general ledger operations, provisions, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Participating in SAP rollouts, system optimizations, and finance transformation projects
• Conducting intercompany reconciliations and providing accounting support to international subsidiaries
• Coordinating closely with Operations and Controlling on project-related and performance-based accounting matters
• Collaborating with Group Accounting for reporting requirements
• Working cross-functionally with IT, Controlling, Tax, and international shared-service organizations

What We're Looking For

Our client requires a detail-oriented accounting professional with international experience and strong technical capabilities:

• College degree in finance, accounting, or comparable qualification
• Minimum 5 years of professional accounting experience at an international company
• Very good knowledge of German Commercial Code (HGB / US-GAAP)
• In-depth knowledge of SAP, preferably SAP S/4HANA FI / MM, and MS Office proficiency
• Experience with process management and digital transformation projects
• Reliable and detail-oriented approach with strong commitment to accuracy
• High level of personal responsibility and analytical thinking
• Structured, solution-oriented work methodology
• Confident demeanor when interacting with management and cross-functional departments
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Affinity for digital processes and organizational change
• Excellent written and spoken English language skills
