IT Business Analyst II (Finance)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential energy infrastructure organization seeking an IT Business Analyst II focused on Finance systems and processes. This role is based in Piney Point Village, Harris County, and offers the chance to work with a stable, established company that is actively investing in technology modernization.

Our client operates in the energy services sector and is looking for an experienced analyst who can bridge the gap between finance stakeholders and IT delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with finance leadership to gather, document, and analyze business requirements for financial systems and reporting tools
• Translate business needs into technical specifications for development teams
• Support implementation and enhancement of ERP, financial planning, and analytics platforms
• Facilitate process improvement initiatives within finance operations
• Conduct user acceptance testing and coordinate training for finance system users
• Maintain documentation of system configurations, workflows, and business processes
• Serve as a liaison between finance, IT, and external vendors

What We're Looking For

• 3-5 years of experience as a business analyst, preferably supporting finance functions
• Strong understanding of financial processes including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, and reporting
• Experience with ERP systems and financial software implementations
• Proficiency in requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation techniques
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication abilities with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
• Experience in the energy or utilities sector is a plus
