European Expansion Manager (gn)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential consumer goods organization in their search for a European Expansion Manager to lead growth across France, the Nordics, and additional European markets. This is a remote, full-time senior-level position based in France, offering the opportunity to drive commercial strategy and distributor partnerships across multiple territories.

We are seeking a seasoned professional who can take ownership of third-party distributor networks, negotiate commercial agreements, and translate global brand strategies into measurable local market success. You'll work closely with an international growth team while maintaining autonomy in your markets.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships with third-party distributors across France, the Nordics, and future European expansion markets
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new distribution partners to support international expansion strategy
• Negotiate commercial agreements and contracts with existing and prospective distributor partners
• Drive distributor performance by providing strategic guidance on brand positioning, product portfolio, pricing, go-to-market strategies, and in-market activation
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key retailers and relevant market stakeholders
• Monitor market performance, identify growth opportunities, and create actionable recommendations to accelerate business development
• Collaborate with the international growth team on commercial strategy, product portfolio, pricing, and activation initiatives
• Analyze commercial performance and financial KPIs to support business decisions and ensure sustainable market growth
• Act as the central point of contact for your markets and align internal and external stakeholders to achieve growth targets

What We're Looking For

• 5–10 years of professional experience in international business development, distributor management, commercial management, or a comparable role within FMCG, nutrition, food, or consumer goods
• Proven track record of successfully managing multiple international markets and working closely with external distribution partners
• Strong experience in commercial negotiations and contract management
• Excellent financial and commercial acumen with the ability to confidently interpret business performance metrics
• Demonstrated ability to build long-term relationships with distributors, retailers, and external business partners
• Highly proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable taking ownership in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a small, highly motivated international team
• Business-fluent French language skills with confidence negotiating contracts and managing senior business relationships in French
• Fluent English; additional European languages are a plus
