Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential manufacturing organization in Ratingen seeking a part-time HR Generalist (20 hours per week). In this role, you will:

• Provide comprehensive support and advisory services to employees and management on HR, employment law, and collective bargaining matters
• Independently manage operational HR processes from onboarding through offboarding, including preparation of employment contracts, contract modifications, certificates, and references
• Oversee the full-cycle recruitment process from job posting through candidate selection, interviewing, hiring, and structured onboarding
• Prepare and coordinate all payroll-relevant personnel changes in close collaboration with the central payroll department
• Maintain and monitor personnel data, time management systems, and absence records; track HR-related deadlines and compliance requirements
• Support employee development initiatives, training programs, and internal qualification concepts
• Manage absence monitoring including coordination and implementation of workplace reintegration programs
• Work collaboratively with works council representatives and prepare required participation and information procedures
• Generate HR statistics, reports, and key performance indicators; contribute to workforce planning
• Participate in optimization, standardization, and digitalization of HR processes as well as cross-location HR projects

What We're Looking For

• Completed commercial apprenticeship with HR specialization or degree with focus on HR, employment law, or comparable field
• Several years of professional experience in a generalist HR function, ideally within a manufacturing or mid-sized industrial company
• Strong knowledge of employment law, co-determination law, and social insurance regulations; experience with collective bargaining agreements advantageous
• Familiarity with operational HR processes throughout the complete employee lifecycle; experience working with works councils preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of HR management systems such as Varial World PW, SAP HCM, or comparable platforms beneficial
• Meticulous, independent, structured, and solution-oriented work style with strong prioritization skills and ability to manage multiple parallel tasks and deadlines
• High sense of responsibility, discretion, and professional handling of confidential employee data
• Reliable and respectful communication style with strong service orientation and practical, hands-on approach to daily operations
• German language proficiency required for this role

Pay

Compensation will be based on applicable collective bargaining agreements for the metal and electrical industry in North Rhine-Westphalia and discussed during the interview process.
