Lead Agentic Engineer (w/m/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential B2B SaaS organization in Bielefeld that is pioneering autonomous software development through agentic systems. Our client has built a proprietary agent harness that generates software from specifications, orchestrates peer reviews between agents, and automates deployment. We need a Lead Agentic Engineer who will expand this autonomous development factory, translate customer needs into buildable specs, and deliver production features—not manage meetings.

Responsibilities

• Agent Harness & Software Factory: Evolve the proprietary agent framework including specification pipelines, agent-based code review, guardrails, and automated deployment infrastructure
• Autonomous CI/CD: Build AI-driven continuous integration and test automation so features ship in hours rather than weeks; determine when agents deploy autonomously versus requiring human oversight
• Customer-Driven Development: Work with founders, business teams, and end customers to understand real needs and convert them into executable specifications
• Rapid Prototyping: Quickly validate features through prototypes, gather customer feedback, and iterate—building solutions that solve actual problems rather than clearing backlog items
• Technical Architecture: Own architecture across Nest.js APIs, web applications, native mobile apps (Kotlin/Swift), and PostgreSQL databases
• LLM Infrastructure: Design and implement the LLM layer including RAG systems, tool use patterns, agent orchestration, and evaluation frameworks
• Technical Leadership: Serve as technical sparring partner to founders and provide technical guidance to a small team through guardrails rather than micromanagement

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Skills:

• Proven experience building production software with autonomous agents—not just autocomplete tools. You've created your own harness for specs, agent review, and automated deployment, and can demonstrate systems that run without your direct intervention
• Several years of hands-on experience with TypeScript/Node.js, Nest.js or comparable frameworks, and PostgreSQL
• Production LLM integration experience including RAG, tool use, evaluations, and managing cost and latency at scale

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with Kotlin or Swift for native mobile development
• Monorepo setup and tooling expertise
• Familiarity with AWS Bedrock or similar managed LLM services
• Experience providing technical leadership to small engineering teams
• Background in B2B SaaS, particularly in construction or skilled trades verticals

Location & Work Arrangement

This role is based in Bielefeld, Germany, with a hybrid work model requiring regular weekly presence in the office located in the historic Altstadt district.
