Technical Product Developer III/IV

Williams is hiring a Technical Product Developer III/IV to join our engineering team in one of two locations. This is a full-time position where you'll design, build, and ship core product features that drive business value for our customers.

About the Role

As a Technical Product Developer III/IV at Williams, you'll take ownership of significant product areas, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver scalable solutions. This role bridges engineering excellence with product thinking—you'll own decisions about system architecture, technology choices, and implementation strategies that shape how our products evolve. Working at this level, you're expected to mentor team members, establish technical best practices, and drive continuous improvement across the development lifecycle.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable solutions for assigned product features and systems
• Partner with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical roadmaps
• Write clean, testable code and conduct thoughtful code reviews that elevate team standards
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, analyze performance bottlenecks, and optimize system efficiency
• Document architectural decisions and technical specifications for knowledge retention
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical hiring and team growth
• Participate in agile ceremonies and cross-functional project planning

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience (5+ for Developer IV candidates)
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language and relevant technology stack
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
• Experience with version control systems, testing frameworks, and CI/CD workflows
• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to balance technical excellence with business needs
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent professional experience
