Position Summary
As a Software Engineer II in Career Services, you will design, develop, and maintain robust software systems that power career guidance, placement services, and professional development initiatives for our students. This role combines backend and frontend development responsibilities with meaningful influence over how students access career resources and guidance throughout their educational journey.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop full-stack features that enhance career services delivery and student engagement
- Collaborate with product, design, and Career Services teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Write clean, maintainable code and participate in peer code reviews to ensure quality standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with focus on reliability and user experience
- Contribute to system architecture decisions and technical documentation
- Participate in agile development cycles, including sprint planning and retrospectives
Who We're Looking For
- 2+ years of professional software development experience
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#
- Experience building or maintaining web applications and REST APIs
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines is a plus
