Transfer Station Scale Attendant

Join Wasteconnections as a Transfer Station Scale Attendant at 2062-Rogue Transfer and MRF, a full-time position supporting critical waste transfer operations. This role is essential to keeping our transfer station running smoothly and safely.

Role Overview

As a Transfer Station Scale Attendant, you'll be the operational heart of our facility's weigh-in process. You'll operate our weighing equipment, manage customer interactions, and maintain accurate records—all while ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency. This position requires someone who can multitask in a fast-paced environment and take pride in keeping things organized and running like clockwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate scales and weigh-in equipment to record the weight of incoming waste and materials
• Maintain detailed, accurate records and documentation of all weigh transactions
• Direct and manage traffic flow of trucks and customer vehicles at the transfer station
• Verify manifests, permits, and other documentation as required
• Assist customers with unloading procedures and address questions or concerns
• Monitor and enforce facility safety protocols and environmental compliance standards
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of weighing equipment
• Support the team in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient facility

Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license in good standing
• Comfort operating electronic scales and computer systems
• Solid math and data-entry skills
• Ability to stand and work for extended periods in outdoor and indoor environments
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Safety-conscious mindset and commitment to following protocols
• Attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Willingness to work a structured full-time schedule
