Creative Strategist – Paid Social (m/f/d)

About the Role

We are representing a fast-growing SaaS client in the business communications space. They are looking for a Creative Strategist - Paid Social to join their marketing team in Cologne and own the creative engine behind their paid social performance.

This is not a role for someone who wants to produce three polished brand films per quarter. This is for a strategist-maker who thinks in hooks, lives in the first three seconds, and can ship dozens of high-velocity creative variations every month. You will own the single biggest lever in paid performance: the creative itself.

Meta is your home channel. You decide what gets tested, you make sure enough of it exists, and you read the results well enough to know why the winner won. Our client operates in B2B, but they intend to build like a consumer brand — because German SMB owners scroll the same feed as everyone else, and they do not stop for product screenshots with feature lists.

Responsibilities

• Own the creative engine for paid social, primarily Meta, with expansion into TikTok and YouTube as the channel mix grows.
• Turn customer insight into testable angles by mining reviews, support tickets, sales calls, churn data, competitor ads and real customer language for what resonates with German SMBs.
• Build and run a structured creative testing roadmap that delivers a steady, predictable volume of new concepts every week — organized by angle, format and hook so results are readable, not anecdotal.
• Write scripts, hooks and storyboards for short-form video across UGC, founder-led, employee-led, testimonial, problem/solution, product demo, static and hybrid formats.
• Brief and direct creators, editors, actors and freelancers; run shoots and manage the full production pipeline end-to-end so throughput is never the bottleneck.
• Analyze creative performance in partnership with the Performance Marketing Manager — hook rate, hold rate, CTR, CPA and trial rate per angle — and decide what to iterate, scale or kill.
• Maintain a living library of winners, losers and learnings so the team compounds knowledge instead of restarting every quarter.
• Systematically deconstruct what works in DTC, consumer, AI and SaaS brands elsewhere, and transfer the pattern to this context.
• Keep everything on-brand and legally compliant while still being genuinely entertaining and scroll-stopping.

What We're Looking For

• A proven track record of paid social creative that performed at scale, especially on Meta. Bring examples and the numbers behind them.
• You think in hooks and in the first three seconds. You can explain why an ad works, not just that it does.
• Native-level German copywriting; solid working English as well.
• Production-capable, not just conceptual: when speed matters, you can shoot and cut a usable ad yourself.
• Comfortable with volume — shipping dozens of variations per month, not three perfect films per quarter.
• Data-literate: you can navigate Ads Manager reporting and draw your own conclusions without waiting for a dashboard.
• Strong opinions about creative, loosely held — you let the results decide and you kill your darlings quickly.
• Agency or in-house experience at a DTC, consumer or high-velocity SaaS brand is a strong plus.

Nice to have:

• Experience building and managing a creator or UGC network.
• Experience with AI-supported creative production (generative video, voice, image, automated variation).
• Experience with landing page and post-click creative, not just the ad itself.
