QA Engineer (Manual)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential regulatory technology client in Berlin who is transforming how life sciences organizations achieve product compliance. This is a hands-on Manual QA Engineer role where you'll own product quality across the critical edge cases that automated testing cannot catch.

Our client operates in a hybrid model with teams gathering in their Berlin-Mitte office typically four days per week. You'll work closely with engineering and domain experts to ensure quality across complex, AI-enabled software workflows.

Responsibilities

• Conduct exploratory testing beyond automated coverage, investigating unusual documents, broken inputs, interrupted workflows, non-deterministic AI outputs, and permission edge cases
• Own the complete bug lifecycle from initial report through resolution and verification
• Reproduce and document incoming issues with clear, actionable detail including environment context and reproducible steps
• Assess severity and prioritize issues in collaboration with the Engineering Lead
• Track fixes through completion, verify resolutions, and maintain an accurate, actionable bug backlog
• Design and execute regression testing plans for web-based product releases
• Use technical investigation tools including browser dev tools, logs, network requests, and APIs before escalating issues
• Exercise good judgement about release readiness and risk assessment

What We're Looking For

• Strong manual QA experience on web products, including exploratory testing, test design, and regression planning
• Proven experience owning bug triage and backlog quality, not simply reporting and moving on
• Ability to write exceptionally clear bug reports with reproducible steps, environment details, and expected versus actual behavior
• Technical fluency to investigate issues independently using browser dev tools, logs, network requests, APIs, and basic system behavior analysis
• Strong judgement about risk and the confidence to block releases when quality standards aren't met
• Fluent English (working language)
• Nice to have: experience in regulated domains such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or finance; ISTQB certification; German language skills
