Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential enterprise software organization seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their Provisioning & Licensing team in Munich. This is a high-impact role requiring significant autonomy and ownership, where you'll drive the technical design and delivery of mission-critical systems.
In this position, you will:
- Take end-to-end ownership of significant portions of the development process, from architecture through delivery, with a "you build it, you own it" philosophy
- Contribute to the implementation of a self-managed platform solution for highly regulated environments, leveraging your knowledge of Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and on-premise deployment patterns
- Own core provisioning pipeline systems and latency-sensitive internal APIs that automatically create new tenants based on customer data
- Provide strong input into technical vision and strategy, balancing trade-offs between cloud and self-managed deployment models
- Ensure scalability and reliability of services while upholding defined latency SLAs
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on broad-impact technical projects
- Document processes, concepts, and technical insights to support team efficiency
You'll work with a modern, cloud-native tech stack including Java 25, Spring Boot, Postgres, Kubernetes, and a modular monolithic architecture with strongly enforced boundaries. The team uses containerization extensively, deploying with GitHub CI and Kargo, and monitoring with Datadog.
What We're Looking For
Required qualifications:
- 7+ years of professional experience building high-performance Java applications
- Strong practical experience with Spring frameworks
- Expert-level familiarity with containerization (Docker) and proven experience deploying and managing applications on Kubernetes
- Experience with REST APIs and/or distributed microservice architecture
- Experience writing and setting up comprehensive unit and integration tests
- Strong communication skills in English and a passion for clean, understandable code
Nice to have:
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform
- Experience with Go for building automation and tooling
- Prior experience with on-premise or self-managed enterprise solutions, including deployment models and packaging (e.g., Helm)
- Experience with monitoring and log analysis tools like Datadog
