Werkstudent Cyber Risk & Compliance (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential energy organization based in Hannover that is seeking a working student to support their Cyber Risk & Compliance efforts. This role offers hands-on experience at the intersection of business and IT security, focusing on systematic identification, assessment, and management of cyber risks.

As part of the Digital Security Team, you'll gain practical exposure to cyber risk management, ISO 27001 frameworks, and cyber security governance. This is an excellent opportunity for students looking to build expertise in information security while contributing to real-world IT projects and decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

• Support the evaluation of new applications against security requirements
• Help ensure security controls are integrated into IT solutions following secure-by-design principles
• Assist with regular reviews of existing applications and processes
• Participate in the identification and assessment of IT and cyber risks
• Maintain and update the risk register, tracking remediation measures
• Support audit activities, including ISO 27001 compliance
• Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external audits
• Contribute to bridging business requirements with IT security needs

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled student in Computer Science, Business Informatics, IT Security/Cyber Security, Business Administration with IT focus, or comparable field
• Ideally some initial experience in IT or information security
• Strong interest in IT risk management, IT architecture, compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIS2, NIST CSF), and cyber security
• Proficiency with MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Analytical mindset with structured work approach
• Genuine interest in understanding the relationship between business and IT
• Self-motivated with eagerness to learn
• Strong communication skills and team orientation
• Very good German and good English language skills
