Applied AI Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI product company focused on building intelligent assistant technology for everyday users. Our talent team is seeking an Applied AI Engineer based in Poland to join a small, high-impact team working on production AI systems that handle real-world task completion.

This role sits at the intersection of machine learning, systems engineering, and product development. You'll be responsible for turning model capabilities into reliable product behavior—building AI features end-to-end from model selection through production deployment.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship AI features end-to-end, from model implementation to user-facing systems
• Design and iterate on prompts, tools, memory systems, and agent workflows
• Transform raw model outputs into structured, reliable, and predictable behaviors
• Debug issues across the full stack including model behavior, orchestration, infrastructure, and user experience
• Optimize production systems for latency, cost, and reliability
• Develop lightweight evaluation frameworks to measure real-world performance
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to solve ambiguous problems with working systems
• Ensure ML models in production meet accuracy, latency, and reliability targets
• Build robust, reproducible, and maintainable data pipelines, training loops, and inference systems

What We're Looking For

• Strong foundation in machine learning and modern neural network architectures
• Hands-on experience with training, fine-tuning, or deploying ML models in production
• Ability to write clean, production-quality code in Python
• Experience with frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX
• Familiarity with LLMs (OpenAI-style APIs, LLaMA, Qwen, or similar)
• Knowledge of inference and serving systems (e.g., vLLM) and vector databases
• Comfort working across abstraction layers from model to infrastructure to product
• Strong problem-solving skills in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
• Bias toward shipping, iteration, and continuous improvement
• Ability to bring structure, exercise judgment, and execute independently
