CMO – Chief Marketing Officer (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a fast-scaling direct-to-consumer brand in Germany, and we're seeking a Chief Marketing Officer to lead marketing as the primary growth engine. You will hold full budget and P&L accountability, report directly to the founders, and manage a team of over 50 professionals across multiple disciplines.

You will own performance marketing at scale—managing over €4 million in monthly paid social spend across Meta, TikTok, and additional channels. Your focus will be contribution margin and customer acquisition economics, not vanity metrics. Daily budget allocation decisions will be data-driven and commercially focused.

You will lead and scale one of the largest influencer marketing operations in the country, with a dedicated team, rigorous ROI measurement per partnership, and creator content fueling paid campaigns. This channel drives significant growth, and you will refine it into an even sharper system.

You will oversee creative production and content operations: high output, systematic testing, clear performance patterns. In this environment, creative is the biggest lever in account performance, and you will build the structure to deliver winning assets every week.

You will drive international expansion, adapting the marketing playbook for new markets—localizing creatives, building local creator networks, and ensuring profitable scale. You will collaborate closely with the COO on operational execution.

You will develop retention and brand strategy, turning buyers into repeat customers through CRM, email, and community programs, while evolving the brand identity to remain authentic, approachable, and connected to its audience.

What We're Looking For

• Multiple years of senior marketing leadership in D2C or e-commerce, with full budget and results accountability
• Proven track record managing seven-figure monthly ad budgets profitably, with clear ability to explain structure, creative strategy, and measurement logic
• Deep understanding of influencer marketing as a measurable performance channel, not a reach play
• Strong creative judgment—you can assess ad effectiveness in seconds and articulate why
• Expertise steering by contribution margin, CAC, and repeat purchase rate, making decisions grounded in data
• Leadership experience with organizations of 50+ people across multiple teams, with ability to attract and retain top talent
• Operator mindset: you get into ad accounts, creatives, and data yourself—you don't just delegate
• Fluent German and English
• Demonstrated success in profitable management and scaling of seven-figure monthly paid media budgets
• Integrated understanding of performance marketing, creative strategy, influencer marketing, and retention as growth drivers
• Strong commercial acumen around contribution margin, CAC, customer economics, and repeat purchase dynamics
• Experience leading multidisciplinary marketing organizations with multiple teams and managers
• Ability to operationally challenge data, creatives, and campaigns at a hands-on level
• Track record in internationalization and scaling marketing playbooks into new markets
• High entrepreneurial drive, strong decision-making ability, and clear operator mindset
