Recoveries Agent (Autolend)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential fintech client in their search for a Recoveries Agent to join their auto finance division in Chatham. This role offers the opportunity to work within a fast-growing organization that is transforming how consumers access financial products.

Reporting to the Recoveries and Litigation Manager, you'll be responsible for managing a wide range of administrative activities within strict timescales, coordinating with customers, debt collection agencies, recovery agents, and vehicle auction houses. This position plays a crucial role in asset management by ensuring the timely retrieval of vehicles and managing complex recovery scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Respond effectively to inbound communications from customers and third-party suppliers including debt collection agencies, recovery agents, and auction houses across multiple channels
• Initiate outbound communications (calls and emails) to recovery agents and other third-party suppliers as needed
• Evaluate customers' financial circumstances to determine their ability to repay arrears and recommend appropriate solutions
• Follow company policies and legal regulations regarding financial support practices, documenting all customer communication and updating account information accurately
• Review accounts for placement with third-party suppliers and instruct appropriate suppliers accordingly
• Issue Statutory Notices to customers including Notices of Default and Termination, as well as regulatory notices on post-terminated accounts
• Manage accounts where vehicles have been seized and impounded, coordinating with legal authorities as necessary
• Complete administrative tasks required for efficient operation of internal and external supplier processes
• Ensure customers are treated fairly at all times in line with Consumer Duty requirements
• Support the wider team and take the lead in the Recoveries and Litigation Manager's absence
• Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in financial support and recoveries

What We're Looking For

• Previous recoveries experience in motor finance is preferred but not essential
• Experience taking ownership for managing processes and communicating with external parties
• Good understanding of procedures, systems, and processes within collections or recoveries departments
• Logical and common-sense approach to evaluate situations and select appropriate solutions
• Strong prioritisation skills with the ability to organise work and operate independently
• Resilient and calm approach when faced with difficult situations
• Takes responsibility and demonstrates accountability to ensure high-quality output
• Ability to adapt written and verbal communication to meet individual needs
• Team player who is flexible and able to work on own initiative
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels
