Senior Purchasing Manager- cUAS (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential aerospace technology organization based in Gilching, Bayern, seeking a Senior Purchasing Manager to support their counter-UAS product portfolio. As part of the Procurement Business Partner team, you will translate program requirements into reliable, best-in-class procurement execution across the complete product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Drive procurement activities for assigned counter-UAS programs, ensuring material availability and operational readiness from prototype and pre-series through serial production
• Manage an allocated portfolio of suppliers and purchased parts in alignment with Category Managers and broader procurement strategy
• Support supplier selection, onboarding and development activities for mechanical, electronic and aerospace components
• Translate program demand, production schedules and BOM requirements into purchase orders, delivery schedules and supplier capacity requirements
• Monitor purchase orders, supplier confirmations, inventory exposure and material availability, proactively resolving shortages, delivery deviations and capacity constraints
• Maintain effective day-to-day supplier relationships, support commercial negotiations and ensure compliance with agreed prices, lead times, contractual terms and delivery commitments
• Act as the procurement interface for programs, working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Planning, Fulfillment and Category Management
• Identify and escalate supply risks, including single-source dependencies, long lead times, capacity limitations, quality issues and geopolitical constraints
• Monitor supplier performance across quality, cost and delivery, coordinate corrective actions and contribute to continuous supplier improvement
• Maintain accurate procurement and program data in ERP systems and contribute to transparent KPIs, workload allocation and performance reporting

What We're Looking For

• Successfully completed degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or comparable qualification with focus on procurement
• Several years of experience in strategic purchasing or procurement management, ideally in a technology-driven environment such as aerospace, defense, automotive or high-tech industry
• Proven ability to develop and implement complex procurement strategies and build long-term supplier relationships at management level
• Structured, analytical and data-driven working style with enthusiasm for innovative technologies, ideally in the area of UAVs, aerospace or defense
• Strong sense of ownership, ability to drive initiatives independently and achieve sustainable results in dynamic environments
• Confident, communicative and persuasive presence that enables you to act as a trusted business partner for internal stakeholders and external suppliers
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills with ability to successfully align different interests
• Fluent communication in both German and English, written and spoken
