Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential beauty organization seeking a Senior Global Product & Brand Manager for their professional hair-care portfolio. In this role, you will oversee the complete product lifecycle—from initial concept through commercialization. You'll analyze market, pricing, and competitive data while steering product development in close collaboration with suppliers, manufacturers, R&D teams, and international distribution partners.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Managing the entire product lifecycle independently: ideation, formulation and packaging briefs, market launch, portfolio optimization, and product discontinuation decisions
- Building and maintaining supplier relationships; coordinating product development processes with manufacturers; negotiating pricing, minimum order quantities, and production terms
- Conducting market research, price analysis, consumer insights, trend monitoring, and competitive intelligence—then translating findings into actionable product and assortment strategies
- Owning project and product budgets, including cost and margin calculations, profitability analysis, and continuous optimization
- Leading product launches end-to-end: timelines, bill of materials, forecasts, and coordination across sales, supply chain, and international markets
- Organizing internal and external product testing to validate claims, efficacy, and quality; driving necessary refinements
- Developing creative concepts for product communication and overseeing the design and execution of integrated communication campaigns with cross-functional partners
- Collaborating with online marketing and social media teams: generating content ideas, creating storyboards and briefs, and supporting campaign execution
- Directly reporting to the Vice President and leading a team of two direct reports
What We're Looking For
- University degree and several years of solid experience in product management and/or product development (e.g., as Senior Product Manager, Product Development Manager, Global Product Manager, Product Innovation Manager, Product Portfolio Manager, or Category Manager), ideally within FMCG, beauty, or professional hair care
- Deep expertise in product development, supplier and production management, and steering products across their full lifecycle
- Proven ability to analyze pricing, costs, margins, competitors, and markets—and translate insights into concrete product and business decisions
- Passion and hands-on experience in go-to-market and launch management, plus a track record of developing and executing innovative product concepts
- Experience collaborating and negotiating with external suppliers and manufacturers, as well as managing international partnerships
- Ideally, initial leadership experience and enthusiasm for motivating, developing, and empowering team members
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills, coupled with excellent problem-solving abilities and organizational talent
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills when engaging internal and external stakeholders
- Courage to champion new ideas, an innovative mindset, and the assertiveness to transform concepts into successful products, campaigns, and projects
- Fluent German and English
