Lead Business Analyst, Process & Automation (Belfast | remote)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Lead Business Analyst, Process & Automation based in Belfast with remote flexibility. This is a hands-on individual contributor role where you'll own end-to-end projects that eliminate operational friction across payments, lending, underwriting, risk, and billing processes.

You'll work within a focused team that identifies where processes fail, diagnoses root causes with data, and builds automation solutions that create measurable impact. AI tools are integrated into daily workflows rather than treated as separate initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Map end-to-end operational flows, trace handoffs between teams, and document how processes actually function versus how they're documented
• Diagnose root causes of inefficiencies and quantify where time, budget, and customer satisfaction are being lost
• Design clear requirements, improved workflows, and delivery plans with measurable success criteria
• Build or coordinate automation, tooling, data solutions, and controls that address identified gaps
• Lead testing and launch readiness, track impact against agreed metrics, drive adoption, and transition ownership to the appropriate operational teams
• Establish how AI agents can be deployed in operations for bounded, multi-step workflows, including designing evaluation methods to validate effectiveness
• Partner with product and technology teams to translate operational findings into business cases for longer-term solutions
• Own projects from problem definition through implementation and ongoing measurement

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 7+ years in business analysis, process improvement, operations, implementation, or product operations
• Proven track record leading complex cross-functional projects from discovery through delivery and measurement
• Strong analytical capabilities using data, queries, and dashboards to validate problems and prove outcomes
• Demonstrated ability to convert ambiguous business needs into clear requirements, process designs, and actionable delivery plans
• Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, written communication, and presentation skills
• Experience driving alignment and outcomes across teams you do not directly manage

Preferred qualifications:

• Background in financial services, fintech, payments, lending, insurance, or other complex regulated environments
• Commerce, e-commerce, point-of-sale, or marketplace experience
• Hands-on experience with workflow, case-management, or process-automation platforms
• SQL proficiency, business-intelligence tools, or data modelling experience
• Experience evaluating or deploying AI-enabled solutions for operational use cases
• Track record of driving adoption and effectiveness post-launch, beyond initial delivery
