Mobile Application Developer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization expanding its mobile capabilities in Germany. Our client is building next-generation financial services, and we're seeking a talented Mobile Application Developer to join their distributed engineering team.

This is a remote role for candidates already based in Germany. You'll be building native Android experiences that simplify complex financial workflows for real users across insurance, payments, and related services.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship Android features using Kotlin for production mobile applications
• Design and implement clean mobile flows for financial services, claims processing, and payment features
• Collaborate with product and design teams to simplify complex user journeys
• Integrate backend APIs and ensure mobile experiences are stable, secure, and reliable
• Optimize app performance including crash rate, loading states, responsiveness, and memory usage
• Use analytics and user behavior data to identify and resolve production issues
• Develop AI-assisted mobile features where they genuinely enhance user experience

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of Android development experience with Kotlin
• Proven track record shipping production Android applications
• Strong knowledge of Jetpack, Coroutines, Flow, and modern Android architecture patterns
• Deep understanding of mobile UX principles, usability, edge cases, and user flow design
• Experience integrating REST APIs and debugging production issues
• Fast execution mindset with high ownership and attention to product quality
• Portfolio of shipped work (app links, GitHub repositories, or screenshots strongly preferred)
• Strong English communication skills for working with global teams
• Must be based in Germany with authorization to work in the country

Technical environment: Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK, Coroutines, Flow, SQL/NoSQL databases, TensorFlow Lite for on-device inference.

The ideal candidate: thinks in user journeys rather than just screens, cares about making complex products feel simple, moves quickly without compromising code quality, proactively identifies UX and performance issues, and can clearly articulate their personal contributions to team projects.

This role is not suitable for: engineers seeking fully defined tickets, developers who don't prioritize user experience, those who overlook edge cases or performance optimization, or candidates preferring slower-paced environments.
