Senior Software Engineer

Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer at QVC, you'll design and build the systems that enable seamless shopping experiences at scale. This role places you at the center of our technical strategy, where you'll take ownership of critical projects spanning our e-commerce platform, mobile applications, and backend infrastructure. You'll work across the full development lifecycle—from architecture and implementation through deployment and production support—while collaborating with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers across our 2 Locations.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop scalable software solutions that handle high-volume transactions and millions of concurrent users
• Lead the design and implementation of features and systems, from requirements through production deployment
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct thorough code reviews, and advocate for technical excellence across your team
• Work with cross-functional teams to translate business goals into technical requirements and delivery timelines
• Debug production issues, implement lasting solutions, and improve system reliability and performance
• Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to technical strategy discussions
• Participate in on-call rotation and support incident response efforts

Who We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, design patterns, and system architecture
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and comfort learning new frameworks quickly
• Demonstrated experience with full-stack or deep backend development at scale
• Proven ability to write testable, maintainable code and understand automated testing practices
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams and communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
