Retirement Plan Committee

Responsibilities

Our client, a confidential nonprofit organization, seeks volunteer members for its Retirement Plan Committee. This is a strictly volunteer position with no compensation. Committee members will:

• Administer a qualified 401(a)/401(k) defined contribution retirement plan according to its governing documents, interpreting plan terms and resolving questions or ambiguities
• Establish and maintain an investment policy statement; appoint, monitor, and remove investment options and funds
• Appoint, monitor, and remove vendors and service providers including recordkeepers
• Provide timely reports to the Board of Trustees on participant counts, investment performance, and plan financial condition
• Ensure compliance with IRS reporting and disclosure requirements
• Review and approve summaries of plan provisions, operational policies, and procedures necessary for proper plan administration
• Recommend plan amendments and service provider changes as needed

What We're Looking For

We are representing our client in search of individuals with:

• Current experience, preferably at a senior level, in retirement plan management, investment management, finance, human resource management, or related fields
• Strong understanding of compliance with federal law and regulations governing retirement plans
• Commitment to serve a two-year term beginning July 1, with potential reappointment up to three times (maximum eight years total)
• Availability to attend quarterly meetings, alternating between 6-8 hour sessions and 2-4 hour sessions
• Ability to participate in at least two full-day meetings annually, with flexibility for in-person, phone, or video conference formats
