About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential research organization building a pool of skilled linguist consultants to support their expanding portfolio of projects. This is an opportunity to apply your linguistic expertise to critical research initiatives focused on online safety, community protection, and digital harm reduction.

Our client specifically seeks professionals with native or near-native proficiency in Albanian, Hindi, Kurdish (Sorani), Punjabi, or Urdu, combined with excellent English language skills. Work is remote from the United Kingdom on a flexible consultancy basis.

Responsibilities

• Identify, collect, and analyze information from social media, online spaces, and proprietary research tools
• Provide accurate translation and cultural context for content in your specialist language(s)
• Draft high-quality reports delivering valuable findings in a concise, robust manner
• Work to demanding reporting schedules to meet project deadlines
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure linguistic and cultural nuances are accurately reflected in research outputs

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Native or near-native proficiency in at least one of: Albanian, Hindi, Kurdish (Sorani), Punjabi, or Urdu
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken) for report writing and team collaboration
• Ability to scan large volumes of data and identify the most valuable information
• Relevant professional or research experience
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle patterns in linguistic content
• Excellent teamwork skills with ability to collaborate effectively and respond flexibly to challenges
• Experience in translation, research, or analysis work
• Eligibility to work in the UK (will be verified)

Desirable:

• Proficiency in multiple languages from the priority list above
• Understanding or previous experience working on violent extremism, organized crime, gender-based violence, disinformation, or related online harms
• Willingness to be on-call and work outside regular working hours if needed
