AI Product Owner (Lyon, France)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential investment firm with a global footprint, and we're seeking an AI Product Owner to join their Information Systems Department in Lyon, France. Reporting to the Data/AI Manager, you will drive the development and deployment of Artificial Intelligence solutions across the organization, serving as the essential bridge between technical teams, business stakeholders, and data leadership.

In this role, you will:

• Collaborate on defining the product vision and roadmap for AI initiatives, ensuring strategic alignment with firm priorities
• Translate and challenge business needs into clear, actionable product requirements and user stories
• Own, prioritize, and continuously refine the product backlog in collaboration with business and development teams
• Ensure delivery cadence is maintained and risks are proactively identified and escalated
• Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, gathering requirements, managing expectations, and driving adoption
• Support business teams in understanding AI capabilities and defining high-ROI use cases
• Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth integration of AI tools into existing workflows
• Maintain current knowledge of AI/ML trends, tools, and best practices relevant to the organization's needs
• Evaluate new AI solutions and vendors, providing informed recommendations to leadership
• Ensure responsible AI principles throughout product development and usage, including explainability, fairness, and data privacy
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end delivery
• Define and monitor KPIs to track product performance and adoption
• Contribute to AI governance frameworks, documentation standards, and senior stakeholder reporting

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks a candidate with:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, with at least one significant AI or data-driven product deployment
• Solid understanding of AI, data pipelines, and modern development methodologies and technologies
• Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into business language and vice versa
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working across technical and non-technical teams
• Analytical mindset with a structured, problem-solving approach
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (French is a plus)
• Experience in financial services, private equity, or healthcare is advantageous

This is a permanent (CDI) position based in Lyon, France.
