About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology organization based in Nürnberg that is building production-ready AI systems at the intersection of multi-agent architectures, knowledge graphs, and document intelligence. Our talent team is searching for an experienced AI Engineer to join a specialized team focused on transforming emerging technologies—LLMs, RAG, agentic systems, and graph-based AI—into reliable, reusable capabilities.

This is a hands-on role where you'll work iteratively and collaboratively with software engineers, knowledge engineers, data engineers, and product teams to design, deploy, and optimize sophisticated AI solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and operate production-ready multi-agent systems and autonomous workflows
  • Design RAG architectures incorporating knowledge graphs and hybrid retrieval strategies
  • Build document processing pipelines for information extraction from complex documents
  • Fine-tune and optimize large language models and multimodal models
  • Design agent stacks using modern standards including MCP and advanced prompt engineering
  • Build data engineering pipelines for preprocessing, entity resolution, and data harmonization
  • Integrate LLM applications into existing systems and infrastructure
  • Evaluate, monitor, and optimize the performance of production AI systems
  • Collaborate closely within cross-functional teams, sharing knowledge across project boundaries

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Multiple years of experience developing production-ready GenAI and multi-agent systems
  • Strong expertise in agent engineering and frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, or CrewAI
  • Advanced Python skills with hands-on experience using LangChain and LangGraph
  • Practical experience with LLM APIs (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini) and fine-tuning techniques (SFT, RLHF)
  • Expertise in document processing and handling both structured and unstructured data
  • Experience in data engineering: ETL, preprocessing, and building data pipelines
  • Understanding of production ML practices including deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization
  • Very strong German language skills (C1 level) and good English proficiency
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills

Bonus (not required):

  • Knowledge of knowledge graphs, semantic web technologies, or graph ML
  • Experience with cloud AI platforms and MLOps tools (AWS Bedrock, MLflow, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Domain knowledge in tax, legal, or finance sectors
